Update on Trail Days and Events

CMBTA has received some questions about when scheduled trail maintenance days and other events may start up again on our local trails. We thought this would be a good time to provide an update.

As many of you are aware the British Columbia Government has released their restart plan, which outlines the pace of return for all aspects of society. At this time, all event organizers are ordered to limit all public gatherings larger than 50 people. This includes indoor and outdoor sporting events, conferences, meetings, concerts, religious gatherings or other similar events.

The timing for a safe restart for activities requiring large gatherings is still to be determined as part of Phase Four of BC's Restart Plan. Opening will be conditional on at least one of the following: wide vaccination, "community immunity" or broad successful treatments.

The BC Restart Plan further states that Phase 3 will be in place until at least September and the timing for Phase 4 is still undetermined.

Armed with all of this information, the CMBTA Board has decided to cancel all scheduled trail maintenance days until at least September 1st, 2020. In addition, CMBTA does not condone any races or other large events before September 1st that put the riders, our members and the community at large at risk.

Thank you for your understanding,

CMBTA Board of Directors
